Sync your files

Now you can sync your files between your phone , work and home computers. You create a file on your work computer, save it into your Dropbox and it instantly syncs with your home computer and phone. You can even share a file of pictures or documents with other dropbox users with a click of your mouse.

I don't know about you but it seems much easier than carrying around my thumb drive that I am always replacing. It also doubles as a backup too.

Go to www.dropbox.com on your computer and search for dropbox app in the marketplace on your phone.

Multiple Intelligence and Technology

This is a WONDERFUL website that allows you to explore how to use technology based on a students "Intelligence." It explains types of activities to do with students according to their intelligence and how it helps them learn better. It doesn't have to be all about "Drill and Kill" in the classroom. What a great way to truly differentiate in the classroom.

Uh-Oh! I'm being Followed...

AND IT'S A GOOD THING! Thank you to my first two followers. I will do my best to keep this site updated with relevant technology information as it applies to educators. Now, let's really begin!

Forums for FREE!!!

This is a great site I stumbled upon where you can create a class forum for FREE! The great thing is, you can also make it private. A few teachers and I got together before summer and discussed ways to get more students involved and motivated in our district's Battle of the Books. I suggested we create a forum that all students in 3rd- 5th grade have access too. Go big or go home, right? I had a forum for just my students but I wanted it to be bigger than that. So, I created a Battle of the Books forum for our school and the other teachers can have moderator rights to the forum also. We can link the forum to our class website. What a great way to get students immersed in technology and reading at the same time! Check out the site and create your own free forum TODAY!

Create your own online lessons!

There is a wonderful site called Filamentality at http://www.kn.pacbell.com/wired/fil/ that educators can use to create hotlists, treasure hunts, Webquests, and more! It is an easy site to navigate and will also host what you created onto their site. Then you can link what you created to your class homepage if you would like. Here is one that I created for my 4th graders. Enjoy!

Is Twitter bitter?

I have a Twitter account now and I am currently following 11 people. I told myself I would never have one because what do I have to say and who really wants to hear it? Who you follow says a lot about you I am sure. What am I going to do with this Twitter account now that I have one? Not sure. Hopefully, I will be able to use it for educational purposes as well as personal. But first I have to get some followers...hmmmm. That is going to be tricky.
